Shake And Bake Type Recipes For Dinner

Shake and Bake is easy and tastes great. Below are some useful tips and recipes

“Shake n Bake” Pork Chops

1 C. plain bread crumbs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. smoked paprika
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. parsley
pinch of cayenne pepper
4 pork chops (bone-in, 1/2″ thick)
1 egg
1/4 C. milk

Combine the breadcrumbs and the seasonings in a Ziploc bag. Beat together the egg and milk. Dip the pork chops into the egg mixture then place in the bag, shake it up to coat and place on tinfoil lined and sprayed with a cooking spray sheet pan. Repeat with remaining chops. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes, turn the chops over and bake an additional 10 minutes. NOTE: If you use boneless chops, the cooking time may vary to 7-8 minutes per side.

Homemade Shake N Bake Recipe

Ingredients

3 cups bread crumbs

¼ cup of vegetable oil

1 Tablespoon salt

1 Tablespoon onion powder

3 teaspoons (equals 1 Tablespoon) paprika

2 teaspoons sugar

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 to ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (red pepper)

½ to 1 teaspoon parsley flakes

½ to 1 teaspoon basil

½ to 1 teaspoon oregano

Optional: Italian Style Bread Crumbs (substitute 1 cup of the plain bread crumbs)

Japanese Style (Panko) Breadcrumbs (substitute 1 cup of the plain bread crumbs)

Cajun Seasoning or Old Bay Seasoning

*Adjust all seasonings to taste

Mix until thoroughly incorporated. Store in an airtight container. It will keep for up to 2 months (Longer if stored in the freezer).

To use with chicken: Bake at 400 degrees (preheated) for 22-28 minutes (depending on the size of your chicken)

For In bone chicken bake for 45 mins To use with pork chops: Bake at 400 degrees (preheated) for 24-28 minutes (depending on the size of your pork chops)
