What Would You Do? This Tells A Lot About Your Ethics.

What are ethics? My ethics are the rules or standards governing the conduct by which I live my life and make all my decisions. One of the best ways of thinking about ethics is to take a quick look at what you believe and then think about how you would react when those beliefs are challenged.

Your ethics govern your thought process so that when a problem arises or you need to try and work your way through a situation your solution is based on your ethics.

We live in a world where no one wants to get involved in another person’s affairs and headaches. We say “It’s none of my business!” or “I don’t want to be pulled into the drama!”

Natural morality comes from having pro-social tendencies, which are based on the ability to have empathy and to understand what it means to be fair with the resources in the community.

Acting in ways consistent with what society and individuals typically think are good values. Ethical behavior tends to be good for business and involves demonstrating respect for key moral principles that include honesty, fairness, equality, dignity, diversity and individual rights.

Most animals that live in herds or packs understand the value of maintaining a cohesive unit for survival.

There are two ways of doing ethical inquiry, namely, normative ethics and metaethics.

On the one hand, normative ethics is prescriptive in nature as it seeks to set norms or standards that regulate right and wrong or good and bad conduct.  This may involve articulating the good habits that we should acquire, the duties that we should follow, or the consequences of our behavior.

Metaethics, on the other hand, is descriptive in nature. According to Sumner (1967), “metaethics is allegedly constituted, at least in part, by questions of the meanings of the various ethical terms and functions of ethical utterances.” Hence, if a normative ethical inquiry is evaluative and prescriptive, metaethics is analytical and descriptive. Put simply, metaethics is a type of ethical inquiry that aims to understand the nature and dynamics of ethical principles. It asks questions about the nature and origin of moral facts, as well as the way in which we learn and acquire moral beliefs.

Thus, for example, if normative ethics urges us to do good at all times, metaethics asks the question “What is good?”. For sure, if a moral philosopher attempts to address the questions “What is good?”, “What is justice?”, “Why should I be moral?”, then that moral philosopher is doing metaethics. Hence, when Plato proposed an answer to the question “Why should I be moral”, Plato was doing metaethics―indeed, Plato raised a metaethical question.

Scenarios To Consider

  1. Your friends came over to your house for a movie night.  One of your friends brought another friend so there are more people than you planned for.  You want to pass out the drinks but you only have five cans of soda and you need six for everyone to have their own.  What would you do?
  2. There is a guy in your class who is always mean to you.  He always bumps you when he walks by and he calls you names.  He knocks stuff out of your hands and makes you feel stupid.   You don’t think you can take it anymore.  What do you do?
  3. If you saw your best friend’s boyfriend kissing another girl, would you tell her?
  4. If you found a wallet with $1500. cash in it, would you try to return it?
  5. If you saw some young kids bullying another kid, would you step in?  If they were older kids would it change your answer?
  6. If the guy at the corner store gives you $10 more change than you were owed, do you tell him?
  7. If someone in this group posts something online (facebook, twitter, etc.) that really offends you, would you say anything in the group publicly?  Would you send them a personal message?  Would you do nothing since it was a group?

While peoples actions are a great way to judge, they won’t tell the whole story.

Determining an ethical individual is difficult because you have to also be aware of their intentions and their principles.

In the United States, our ethics are generally derived from the constitution, bill of rights, etc.

So let’s discuss the correlation between actions and intentions.

If actions were the only metric to determine if one was ethical, there would be no need for a court, a judge or a jury.

You killed a guy, alright you’re going to jail for life, whose next? But we don’t do this, we hold court even with clear evidence.

Why? So that we can grasp the intention to determine a proper sentence.

That is to say that we judge premeditated murder differently than impulsive murder, even though they are essentially the same act.

To the only judge based on the action is to make black and white, out of what the whole judicial branch deals with as Grey areas.

The second important thing to consider is that a person can be ethical today and unethical tomorrow and vice versa.

Hence why we have parole boards in prisons and impeachment processes for presidents.

The board is there to decide whether the felon can return to society as an ethically bounded person.

The impeachment process is in place if ever the highest office based on ethical dealings starts being misused.

People are dynamic and ever-changing so whether they are ethical isn’t set in stone.

The easiest way to determine an ethical person is by discovering what they won’t do and why.

Like Batman who won’t kill no matter how effective it would be to take out the joker for good, because he feels that murder is crossing the ethical line.

Or Robin Hood who is a thief, but won’t steal from the poor because he feels it’s wrong.

Given the opportunity to do wrong without punishment, an ethical person will still refrain, because they prioritize their principles over their profit.

To truly identify an ethical individual you will have to understand what they believe is wrong and then test their willingness to act in conflict with their expressed beliefs.

Here is how to answer the question about your living “What do you do?”

  • Tell a story to paint a picture of what you do
  • Talk about what you do to help people
  • Make it relatable
  • Skip the mind-numbing details
  • Focus on the aspects you’re passionate about

Ethics are important for a number of reasons. First, ethics are important because they give us a baseline for understanding the concepts of right and wrong. Ethics help us to have a ready understanding of how to react to a certain situation long before that situation happens.

We all like to think of ourselves as ethical. Whether it’s at work or when dealing with complete strangers, our ethics are essentially what set us apart from other species. But while you might consider yourself an ethical person – you don’t steal, you always remember to hold the door open for the person behind you – you might not have the squeaky-clean ethical reputation that you like to think you have.

Here are some ethical questions:

Are you willing to take another person job by working for a wage less than what he or she needs to survive? If you are then you are unethical.

Are you willing to pay less for pharmaceuticals if it means people in another country must make up the difference in cost, sending many of those people into bankruptcy or an early grave because they can’t afford medicine? If so, then you are unethical.

Are you willing to sell your crop exports at a lower price if it means farmers in another country will lose their land and go bankrupt, some of whom will commit suicide?

I have a few guiding principles I use as I strive to be the most ethical person that I can. Here they are:

  1. Do no harm. I’m always conscious of not wanting to hurt another person whether it is by my words or actions.
  2. Contribute to the betterment of others. Through my teaching, I strive to enhance the ethical awareness of my students so they can lead a more ethical life and act ethically in the workplace.
  3. Consider how I want to be remembered at the end of my life. Obviously, it’s not to be known as a cheat or thief, or someone who uses others to get my way. For me, it’s that I did what I could to make the world a better place by living up to the ethical values that guide my life’s decisions.
  4. Act the way I would want others to act towards me. When faced with an ethical conflict or dilemma I always consider how I would want others to handle the dilemma if I were in the same position as that of the person(s) affected by my impending decision/action. This an extension of The Golden Rule to treat others the way we want to be treated.
  5. Admit my mistakes and move on. I’m not perfect. I make my share of mistakes. We all do. But, when I do, I immediately admit it, promise not to do it again and take whatever steps are necessary to change my behavior. I, and only I am responsible for my decisions and actions and am accountable to others when I miss the mark.

I like to think of ethics as being all about what we do when no one is looking. Our actions reveal the character or person that we are ultimately

Consequences of unethical behaviors:

  • Criminal charges and/or fines
  • Lawsuits
  • Ruined careers
  • Injured organization reputation
  • Wasted time
  • Low morale
  • Recruiting difficulties
  • Oppressive legislation
  • Fraud and scandals

Business Planning Is Essential For Any Business

https://ift.tt/32UWfl3 A Business Plan is also known as a: Business Proposal Marketing Plan Business Strategy Marketing Strategy Sales Plan Why do I need a Business Plan? Lenders and investors are constantly presented with new business proposals. If you provide all the required information in a consistent format then lenders and investors can make an efficient and fair analysis about the viability of your business ideas. By preparing a comprehensive business plan you send a message to your lenders and investors that you have already made an objective assessment of your business ideas and that you are serious about your business plan. This is also the same for online sellers to access brands and even some market places. What is Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)? In a manufacturing environment, the Cost of Goods Sold includes the material costs AND the direct labor costs necessary to produce finished goods. In a simple retail or wholesale environment, COGS can be calculated as beginning inventory plus purchases minus ending inventory. Ideally, this indicates the inventory consumed in the reporting period. What are the benefits of a Business Plan? Benefits of a Business Plan include: Ensures you take a disciplined approach to analyze your business ideas. Shows your investors and lenders that you have systematically analyzed your business ideas. Helps you clearly define your goals and what you want to accomplish. Helps you identify and analyze your risks as well as your opportunities. Helps you assess the strength of your target market. Helps you define your day-to-day business processes and challenges. Helps you analyze costs and capital requirements. What is included in a Business Plan? While a Business Plan may vary in how it is organized, it can include: Executive Summary: This portion of the plan summarizes your company. It can include an overview of your company's management structure, a description of your product/service, your goals, and a summary of your finances and marketing strategy. Business Description and Mission Statement: This is a brief rundown of your business's history, ownership, and its mission or vision statement. Product or Service: Here you can include a breakdown of what your product or service is, its unique features, any patents you may have, as well as any future products you want to develop. Marketing Strategy: Your marketing strategy is how you plan to get your product or service in front of customers. This is where you can include your ideas for promotion (online/traditional methods), as well as how you physically plan to sell your product or service (brick-and-mortar, e-commerce, etc.) Competitors Analysis: This section describes your competition and how you intend to compete against their current strategies. SWOT: SWOT is an acronym for "Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats." A SWOT analysis evaluates these specific aspects of your business. Operations Overview: An operations overview provides a glimpse into the daily operations of your business, including the management and staffing structure, human resources plan, your physical operational facility, and your production methods, such as quotas or manufacturing details. Financial Plan: Your financial plan may include your company's income (profit and loss) statements. It can also encompass your capital requirements if you are pitching your ideas to investors. In that case, you may describe the investment amount you require and how you plan to repay this capital in a repayment plan. How to write a business plan? Research is your best friend. Find out whatever you can about businesses, market and competitors, this will give you a head start into drafting a business plan. I think this step-by-step guide by Entrepreneur.com is rather helpful. I’d suggest this as a compulsory read for those who want to write up a business plan for startups. Top 5 Video Games I used Play and Some I Still Do

Keywebco.com My favorite Top 5 Games I played. Number 5. Grand Theft Auto gta san andreas. A smash hit! GTA V has sold huge amounts of copies and has made giant amounts of money. GTA is the infamous franchise. Parents and anti-videogame-violence advocates everywhere shake in fear or rage at the GTA name. The campaign stories are interesting, the driving is fun, and all the extracurriculars are fun too. We used to play water rescue in GTA 4. Someone takes a boat out into the water and jumps off, the other person has to fly in with a helicopter and get close enough to the water so that the guy in the water can grab on and get into the chopper. Mostly the helicopter just got too close and sank, though. Still, what a blast! Number 4. Call of Duty. call of duty modern warfare 1It’s our duty to mention this one. You don’t crank games out on a release schedule like CoD’s, always getting those big sales numbers, with that giant online community unless you’re #popular. The Call of Duty franchise is a great addition to the FPS compendium. I spent way too many hours playing this one. Number 3. Halo. What a ruckus this big ol’ franchise caused! It’s an empty MJOLNIR suit of its former self, but when it first came out on the original Xbox, boy did it come out swinging! It’s a huge franchise, it has live-action spin-offs (a little bit better than Super Mario Brothers movie), and it was a big deal for shooters when it came out. Popular. Number 2. Super Mario Brothers super mario bros game You think Diablo III moved some copies, it has nothing on the Super Mario Brothers! A timeless classic, everyone knows who they are. Now the argument could be made that people only know of the Mario Bros because of that smash-hit, live-action film that came out in 1993. If anyone makes that argument they’re dead wrong. Terrible movie, watch it sometime! Number 1. Pacman pacman game Pacman gets the first spot because it’s an ancient arcade game that everyone played at least once at the local roller rink before it closed down for good like 20 years ago. I play the new versions to this day. As far as games ago, it’s always seemed to be on the frustrating and simplistic side. Yes, it’s “a classic” but, just like with old movies, a classic doesn’t mean it’s any good! Still, the popularity is undeniable. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/roger-keyserling/support

Top 5 Business Books

keywebco.com list of Top Five Books For Business! These are the books that I have found most influential in running and growing my business Keywebco.com. Number 5. "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu. Written in the 6th century BC, Sun Tzu's " The Art of War" is still used as a book of military strategy today. Napoleon, Mae Zedong, General Vo Nguyen Giap and General Douglas MacArthur all claimed to have drawn inspiration from it. And beyond the world of war, business and management gurus have also applied Sun Tzu's ideas to office politics and corporate strategy. Number 4. "Business Adventures" by John Brooks. What do the $350 million Ford Motor Company disaster known as the Edsel, the fast and incredible rise of Xerox, and the unbelievable scandals at General Electric and Texas Gulf Sulphur have in common? Each is an example of how an iconic company was defined by a particular moment of fame or notoriety; these notable and fascinating accounts are as relevant today to understanding the intricacies of corporate life as they were when the events happened. Note: Bill Gates wrote in his blog, gatesnotes, Gates writes that more than four decades after it was first published, "Business Adventures" remains the best business book he's ever read. Number 3. "The Intelligent Investor" by Benjamin Graham. The greatest investment advisor of the twentieth century, Benjamin Graham, taught and inspired people worldwide. Graham's philosophy of "value investing" - which shields investors from substantial error and teaches them to develop long-term strategies - has made " The Intelligent Investor" the stock market bible ever since its original publication in 1949. Note: Warren Buffett refers to "The Intelligent Investor" as the "best book on investing ever written." Number 2. "The Innovator's Dilemma: The Revolutionary Book That Will Change the Way You Do Business" by Clayton M. Christensen. Offering both successes and failures from leading companies as a guide, " The Innovator's Dilemma" gives you a set of rules for capitalizing on the phenomenon of disruptive innovation. Note: Steve Jobs used this book as an explanation for one reason Apple needed to embrace cloud computing and is frequently associated with both Jobs and Jeff Bezos. Number 1. "The Outsiders: Eight Unconventional CEOs and Their Radically Rational Blueprint for Success" by William N. Thorndike. What makes a successful CEO? Most people call to mind a familiar definition: "a seasoned manager with deep industry expertise." Others might point to the qualities of today's so-called celebrity CEOs - charisma, virtuoso communication skills, and a confident management style. But what really matters when you run an organization? What is the hallmark of exceptional CEO performance? Quite simply, it is the returns for the shareholders of that company over the long term. Note: "The Outsiders" was #1 on Warren Buffett's recommended reading list in the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholder Letter (2012). --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/roger-keyserling/support

Top 5 Movies 🎥 in no particular order I really like

Top 5 Movies I enjoyed. first number 5. Forest Gump. Hanks is Forrest Gump, who despite being mentally challenged, tried hard, is honest and places his trust in luck. He tells his life story to anyone who sits next to him at a bus stop, and the flashbacks follow Forrest and his good heart through some of the highlights of modern American history. Through the use of digital imagery, Forrest appears to interact in scenes with John F. Kennedy, John Lennon and George Wallace. "Life is like a box of chocolates." Next movie 4. The Godfather. BRANDO IS DON VITO CORLEONE, THE SYMPATHETIC GODFATHER OF A NEW YORK CRIME FAMILY, WHOSE BUSINESS IT IS TO MAKE OFFERS PEOPLE CAN'T REFUSE. VISUALLY BEAUTIFUL AND IMAGES OF TIMES ANDLOCALES CONTRAST THE FILM'S GRAPHIC VIOLENCE. One favorite is number 3. Pulp Fiction. Critics and audiences worldwide hailed PULP FICTION as the star-studded picture that redefined cinema in the 20th Century! Writerdirector Quentin Tarantino (Academy Award) Winner of Best Original Screenplay, 1994) delivers an unforgettable cast of characters. including a pair of low-rent hit men (John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson), their boss's sexy wife (Uma Thurman), and a desperate prizefighter (Bruce Willis) in a wildly entertaining and exhilarating motion picture adventure that both thrills and amuses! All Star Wars movies I love number 2. Star Wars the empire strikes back. The Rebels scatter after the Empire attacks their base on the ice planet Hoth. Han Solo and Princess Leia are pursued by Imperials, while Luke trains with Jedi Master Yoda. Luke must battle Darth Vader and learns the shocking truth of his past. Number 1. The Dark Knight, Batman. The Dark Knight reunites Christian Bale with director Christopher Nolan and takes Batman across the world in his quest to fight a growing criminal threat known as The Joker. Now there are definitely a lot more movies that I would’ve like to add to this list but this is only the top five. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/roger-keyserling/support

Awesome Recipes For Dessert To Give Your Family

Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake

Ingredients
for 8 servings
Crust
20 chocolate sandwich cookie 1⁄4 cup brown sugar
7 tablespoons butter, melted
Cheesecake
32 oz cream cheese, softened 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1 1⁄2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract 4 egg
1 1⁄2 cup heavy cream
1⁄4 cup powdered sugar
Chocolate Ganache
16 oz chocolate chips
2 cups heavy cream, hot

Preparation
1. Place cookies in a plastic bag and crush them into a fine crumb using a rolling pin. Alternatively, a food processor can be used to crush the cookies.

2. Pour the cookie crumbs into a medium bowl with the melted butter and brown sugar. Mix until the crumbs take on the character of coarse, wet sand.

3. Pour the crumbs into a 9- inch (23 cm) spring pan. Press the crumb firmly into the pan, making sure to coat the bottom evenly.

4. Once the crust has been formed, place it in the refrigerator to firm up.

5. Add cream cheese, melted chocolate, cocoa powder, and sugar to a large bowl and whisk, either by hand or with an electric mixer, until all the ingredients are incorporated. 6. NOTE: If mixing by hand, it is recommended to microwave the cream cheese slightly before whisking in order to soften it up.

7. Add vanilla extract and eggs, and continue to whisk until mixture is smooth and glossy.

8. In a separate bowl, combine heavy cream and powdered sugar. Whisk until the cream develops a mousse-y texture and soft peaks form.

9. Adding a small amount at a time, carefully fold in the whipped cream into the cream cheese batter, being careful not to let the air out of the fluffy mixture. Fold just until incorporated.

10. Once combined, pour the batter over the prepared cookie crust inside the springform pan. Use a spatula to smooth out the top. Give the pan a slight jiggle to release any large air bubbles that may be trapped in the batter.

11. Preheat oven to 300 ̊F (150 ̊C).

12. Place the filled pan on top of a sheet of aluminum foil and fold the foil up the sides on the outside of the pan. Then place the wrapped pan into a larger baking pan or dish lined with 2 paper towels at the bottom.

13. NOTE: The aluminum foil will keep water from seeping into the bottom of the pan and the paper towels ensure that the heat is distributed evenly along the bottom of the pan. 14. Fill the larger pan with about 1 inch (2 1⁄2 cm) of hot water.

15. Bake at 300 ̊F (150 ̊C) for 60-70 minutes–checking every 15-20 minutes to add more hot water to the larger dish, as necessary.

16. Once out of the oven, immediately run a small sharp knife around the outside of the cheesecake to release it from the pan. Allow the cheesecake to cool completely before removing it from the pan.

17. Prepare the ganache by combining chocolate chips with hot cream. Stir until chocolate is completely melted and ganache is smooth and glossy. 18. Pour ganache evenly over the cooled cheesecake.

19. Refrigerate the ganache covered cake for 30 minutes before cutting and serving.

Vegan Honeycomb Toffee

Ingredients
for 5 servings
2 cups of sugar
1⁄2 cup light corn syrup
1⁄3 cup water
1 tablespoon baking soda 2 cups dark chocolate
1 cup of sea salt
Special Equipment
candy thermometer

Preparation
1. Line a 9-inch (22 cm) baking tray with parchment paper and grease thoroughly.

2. Set aside a metal whisk and one tablespoon of baking soda.

3. In a large saucepan (the bigger, the better, as this will more than triple in size) over medium-high heat, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water.

4. Stir to incorporate, then leave to boil. Insert a candy thermometer and continue to heat without stirring until the mixture reaches 300 ̊F (150 ̊C).

5. Remove from heat, and working quickly, add the baking soda and quickly whisk into the sugar syrup (whisking for no more than five seconds to prevent deflating the toffee). The mixture will begin to expand. Quickly pour it into the prepared pan and leave to set. Do not move it for 1-2 hours.

6. Once the toffee has cooled and set, remove from pan. Using a blunt object, shatter the toffee into bite-size pieces.

7. Melt chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl for 75-90 seconds. Make sure to stop and stir after every 30 seconds.

8. Dip the toffee pieces in chocolate and place on a lined baking tray. Finish with a sprinkle of sea salt and place in the refrigerator to cool for 15 minutes.

Neapolitan Brownie Bomb

Ingredients
for 12 servings
2 packages brownie mix, divided
2⁄3 cup vegetable oil, divided 2⁄3 cup water, divided
2 egg, divided
1 1⁄2 qt strawberry ice cream, softened
1 qt vanilla ice cream, softened 1⁄2 qt chocolate ice cream, softened
cocoa powder, for dusting

Preparation
1. Preheat the oven to 350oF (180oC). Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper and line a large bowl with plastic wrap.

2. In a medium bowl, mix 1 package of the brownie mix, 1⁄3 cup (80 ml) oil, 1⁄3 cup (80 ml) water, and 1 egg until just combined. Pour the mix onto a prepared baking sheet and spread with a spatula until even. Repeat with the remaining brownie mix, oil, water, and egg. Bake for 13-15 minutes, until the brownies are fudgy, yet firm. Remove from the oven and let cool.

3. Once cool, cut 1 pan of the brownies in half lengthwise, then into 8 equal rectangles. Cut 4 of those rectangles diagonally to make a total of 8 triangles and 4 rectangles. Configure the brownie pieces in the lined bowl so that they cover the sides and the bottom. Once the inside is covered, press down firmly on all the brownies, especially the seams, to create a shell. Make sure there are no openings in the outer layer.

4. Scoop the strawberry ice cream onto the brownie shell and smooth with a spatula. Cover with plastic wrap and press a medium bowl into the ice cream so that it rises up on the sides until flush with the top of the bowl. Freeze for 3 hours, until the strawberry layer is solid.

5. Unwrap and add the vanilla ice cream. Cover with plastic wrap and press a small bowl into the ice cream so it comes up the sides and is flush with the strawberry layer. Put back in the freezer for 2 hours.

6. Meanwhile, cut a circle in the other pan of brownies the circumference of the large bowl. This will cover the ice cream layers, serving as a base when the bomb is flipped over.

7. Uncover the frozen vanilla layer and fill the well with the chocolate ice cream. Cover with the brownie circle (save brownie leftovers for later!). Press the circle into the bowl to secure it, then freeze for 1 hour.

8. Carefully remove the bomb from the freezer and flip it over onto a cutting board or serving platter. It may need to thaw a couple of minutes before it dislodges from the bowl. (Running a warm towel around the bowl will also do the trick.). Once you can lift up the bowl easily, uncover the bomb and dust with cocoa powder.

9. Enjoy!

Vegan Chocolate & Peanut Butter Fudge

1 cup coconut butter
1⁄2 cup maple syrup
1 1⁄2 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 oz dark chocolate baking bar

2. Cook for 2-3 minutes while stirring constantly. The mixture should start out smooth then thicken into a dense paste.

4. Remove the peanut butter mixture from the heat and allow it to cool slightly.

5. While the mixture cools, break up the baking bar of chocolate into a microwave-safe bowl and microwave it for 1 minute (stirring every 15 seconds) or until it is completely melted and smooth.

6. Prepare a 9×9-inch (23×23 cm) baking tray by spraying it with nonstick cooking spray and layering it with a piece of parchment paper.

7. Pour half of the peanut butter mixture into the baking tray and spread it out evenly.

8. Add the melted chocolate to the remaining peanut butter mixture and mix thoroughly.

9. Once incorporated, layer the chocolate mixture into the baking tray, over top of the peanut butter layer, and spread it evenly.

10. Give the tray a few shakes and taps to remove any possible air bubbles and place the tray in the freezer for 1.5-2 hours to set.

11. Turnover the baking tray to remove the fudge. Cut into small rectangular pieces before serving.

Search And Seller Protection On eBay Results In A 10 Year Old Store Closing!

Keywebco has been selling on eBay for 10 years as an anchor store with close to 10,000 listings at one time!

You will not find Us on eBay anymore!  Now that said the reasons are many why we closed! But the biggest two I mention below.  Understand that there are still opportunities on eBay just To cash in on those opportunities is almost impossible.  If you find a product “not tied up” you still will have a small percentage chance you will even sell an item through eBay product search.

Please note it is a normal thing for businesses to change

Usually, your purchases on eBay will go smoothly, but occasionally a problem might come up with your order.

eBay’s New abusive buyer protections and reporting feature update

We’re implementing stronger measures against buyers who don’t follow eBay’s abusive buyer policy. We’re introducing new measures to proactively find abusive buyers, prevent them from filing return requests, and in some cases suspend them. When we find that a buyer violated the policy, we will remove any feedback and defects, including opened cases in service metrics.

We’ve also made it easier for you to report buyers who violate eBay policies. Now when you report a buyer, you can more clearly describe what the buyer is doing to help us investigate potential policy violations and take actions to protect you.

Reduced search visibility for sellers who use a retailer to ship directly to buyers

Sellers who use retailers or marketplaces to ship directly to buyers are in violation of our dropshipping policy and will be lowered in search results, giving sellers who own their own inventory or drop ship from wholesalers greater search visibility. This is so they can use china themselves and eBays product catalog to “drop ship” for eBay without competition.

We protect you in other ways, too

Additional protections include:

  • Removal of negative feedback and defects when you’ve done your part (e.g., tracking shows on-time delivery) or when things happen that are beyond your control, such as weather or carrier delays.
  • Partial refunds in the returns flow for items returned opened or used when you offer free returns.

Learn more about the many ways we protect you on eBay.

Seller Protection

When you sell on eBay, you’re protected by policies, transaction monitoring, and data systems that make eBay a safe and vibrant community. You can sell with confidence, because our dedicated seller protection team works around the clock to enforce policies and track problems before they start.

Here Is The Reality Of eBay:

1. Search and Platform Changes

eBay was founded to be a community to a community-based platform where everyone that is selling the same item would be ranked in order of their performance but visible to all of the buyers.   This is the only type of business model that will work for a small business is a community to community-based search.  Product catalog search is the way all of the big companies from China or even in the United States get all of the search results and nobody else shows.  I had over a million dollars invested in products that only sell in competition with “China” if a buyer can see the listing.

Fact:

Before eBay changed from a community-based platform to a product-based platform, I was selling anywhere from 100 to 200 items a day every day.   You can see the day that they flip the switch on my store and turned it into a product catalog instead of a community-based platform.  I was in the car doing a Facebook live video complaining that I only sold 65 items on Friday.   The next day you see me on Facebook live pale as a ghost saying I only had one sale something must be wrong with my eBay store.   The next day you can see me on Facebook live very angry and upset because I realized nothing was wrong with my store something is wrong with eBay.   In a few days, I managed to get a few sales working extremely hard manipulating every keyword I could possibly think of I’ve managed to get my average sales back to a  whopping 10 to 25 sales a day.   Realize some of this is due to my product line, vintage items still do better because they have individual searches with more specific keywords that will cut out your competition.

2.   Seller protection and returns:

Seller protection is basically a joke considering no matter what eBay does they can just file on PayPal.

Since eBay ordered its business sellers to extend their returns policy from 14 to 30 days last year, sellers complain that return rates have escalated and they are being penalized for complying. Customers who change their mind about a purchase often cite a return as “not as described” rather than “no longer wanted” to avoid incurring postage charges and these count against a seller unless they are successfully appealed.

The theft rate in my store and return rate has increased by almost 700% since this change!   And to be honest I don’t even bother calling customer service anymore.

eBay counters that its penalty fees for return rates of over 2% are “to ensure buyers receive the best shopping experience possible, bringing more buyers and more sales for sellers” and “maliciously filed returns are stripped out of the calculations”. I have yet to see this work.

Some More Problems With eBay as mentioned online by others:

“Professional scammers often never notify eBay, nor leave feedback because, if they do, sellers can respond via feedback which stays forever to warn other sellers,” he says. “Instead, they make a PayPal claim after 60 days when the sales record for a transaction disappears from the seller’s file and feedback can no longer be left on the buyer’s record.” – online comment

I have read with interest in your cases when eBay was unfair to its sellers, but eBay is a picnic compared to what Etsy sellers have to endure. Many, like me, depend on it for making a living, but we are powerless against its often arbitrary decisions.- online comment

I have great tools I made to help you sell online, even an app for eBay

eBay Fans App   This App is for SEO Keywebco SEO App

I could go on and on discussing this topic pointing out all of the different feelings but it is useless nothing will change and it’s only gotten worse.

Do you think I do not like eBay?  Wrong I do it just will not work for my business.  There are still ways to earn on eBay but not easy to do.

In conclusion, it is very obvious why I am closing my eBay store.  eBay has raised the prices of everything astronomically high penalized you for following their own policies and procedures.   Yet, on the other hand, you get no results in their search engine and unless you are promoted by eBay invested in by eBay or a huge major company in China paying nothing in seller fees and super cheap shipping and not held to the same seller matrix, sound dishonest? It is!

It was very hard to survive this change but as a professional, I was able to change my business and adapt.

Our Keywebco Global Store is up and running and doing well.  I can offer so much more to a consumer than any platform can offer.
